ANITA C. LAYMAN, CPA
Anita
Layman has had a CPA practice in the Almaden Valley of San Jose, California,
since 1991. Her office offers a complete line of accounting and tax services
including the preparation of compiled financial statements, trust
accounting, small business and individual tax planning and consulting, the
preparation of income tax returns, payroll tax returns, sales and use tax
returns and business property tax returns. She has extensive experience in
the tax complexities associated with Silicon Valley, such as incentive stock
options, employee stock purchase plans, restricted stock, alternative
minimum tax and limited partnership investments.
She represents individuals and corporations at audit in front of the
Internal Revenue Service, Franchise Tax Board, Employment Development
Department and the Board of Equalization. She does income tax, retirement
and social security planning for her clients. She prepares individual,
partnership, C-Corporation, S-Corporation, fiduciary (trust), and gift tax
returns.
Anita has been a QuickBooks certified proadvisor since 1999. She provides
individual QuickBooks training, QuickBooks account setup, and she trouble
shoots problem QuickBooks files.
Anita graduated from Fresno State University with a bachelors degree in
Chemistry. She worked six years as a chemist before she took time off to
raise a family. During her years as a homemaker, she worked part-time in the
bookkeeping and tax field and she discovered that the same analytical
thinking skills used in science applied well to accounting and tax. In 1979,
she passed the three-day Federal exam to become Enrolled to Practice before
the IRS (Enrolled Agent).
She took her business and accounting course work at San Jose State
University and passed all four parts of the Uniform CPA exam at her first
sitting. She worked as an auditor for the Department of Defense for five
years where she performed audits of defense contractor’s overhead accounts.
It is Anita’s belief that no one should pay more tax than they legally owe.
She brings personal attention, integrity and her work ethic into every job
she does.
